I didn't even know there was a sig limit set. I'll play around with it to see what I can do. I'm not really sure how to change the limit, the Admin CP here is confusing.

500 characters is plenty long enough for a signature. Look at mine, that's all you really need in it. Your FCs, and 2-3 images. We don't need long extensive signatures, because 1) they are annoying when browsing a thread and 2) the size of the board is limited.
